Despite people’s annoyance at “junk mail,” direct mail remains a popular and cost-effective vehicle for businesses large and small. It’s a great way to introduce your business to new prospects, reach out to current customers, and drive sales activity with a targeted, well-executed campaign.
The Every Door Direct Mail® (EDDM) service by US Postal Service is a great way for local businesses to get their marketing message to their neighbors—people who are most likely to utilize their services. It is an easy, cost effective way to deliver your message to every address in your target market.
You can choose the zip codes, city, neighborhood or specific postal carrier routes you want to reach with your mailing. No need to print labels or pay for mailing lists. Pay just 17.6 cents postage per piece—a significant saving over the regular postcard rate at 34 cents, but with much greater visual impact due to the larger sizes allowed. To qualify for the EDDM rate, the size of your mail piece must be a minimum of 6.125″ high OR 10.5″ long, up to 12″ x 15″ maximum, and between 0.07″ and 0.75″ thick. So, you can mail anything from a large postcard to a 9×12 envelope with a catalog inside as long as your mail piece falls within the acceptable range.
EDDM mail pieces must meet other strict requirements such as labeling, indicia, and bundling. The reason the Postal Service can offer reduced postage on EDDM mailings is because they offset most of the work to you, the mail sender. If you don’t want to become a temporary postal employee to handle your own mailing, we can help take over these mundane and tedious tasks for you and help ensure compliance in the EDDM requirements.
Below are some popular EDDM sizes. Choose the best size to convey your marketing message for maximum impact.
